Streets are much more than a road to drive on and a sidewalk to walk on. They are the natural extension to the public and private activites happening in the buildings nearby. They are informally occupied by people for work, play, rest, and to socialize. Suddenly streets become living rooms, dining rooms, barbershops, libraries or repair shops. Photographer Rob Smith captures images of everyday life on the streets of Shanghai.
