John Szot is an award-winning designer working in the New York metropolitan area. His work has been exhibited in Chicago, New York, Portland, and The Netherlands. In addition to his research in building design, he currently teaches architecture and digital visualization at the Graduate School of Architecture and Planning at Columbia University and serves as one of the executive directors of the Experimental Modern Arts Collective.

The topic chosen for the twelfth issue is Aberration and it will be dedicated to examining forces, trends, and ideas that enhance the significance of the built environment despite, or due to, their deviant nature. It will feature contributions that confront a designer’s practical obligations and seek the potential of the territory beyond. In other words, we are looking to include highly-provocative emergent project and ideas that challenge orthodoxy. The submissions period for the winter issue is already open, so check out the submission guidelines.
