January 20, 2021

Nocturnal Landscapes: Urban Flows of Global Metropolises has received the support of the Institute of Culture (ICUB) of the Barcelona City Council. The project started as an exhibition in Chicago organized by MAS Context and the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago. Curated and designed by architect Iker Gil (MAS Studio, Chicago), it features work by architects Mar Santamaría and Pablo Martínez (300.000 Km/s, Barcelona) and sociologist/photographer David Schalliol (David Schalliol, Minneapolis).

Together, the work of 300.000 Km/s and David Schalliol provides a comprehensive look at global metropolises at night, combining analysis and observation, questioning the correlation of human activity and light, and revealing hidden aspects of our cities.

The exhibition was a partner program of the 2019 Chicago Architecture Biennial. You can learn more about the exhibition in Chicago here.

Thank you very much to the Barcelona City Council for the support to this project.
