Concéntrico is Logroño’s International Festival of Architecture and Design. Now in its sixth edition, it reflects on the urban environment and the city. It is directed and curated by architect Javier Peña Ibáñez.

The Festival invites visitors to tour the city through installations, exhibitions, meetings, activities, and performances that create a connection between the venues, plazas, streets, courtyards, and hidden spaces that may otherwise go unnoticed.

The exhibitions have extended the focus to new international contexts, as it happened with the retrospective exhibition of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation about the interventions carried out in the Barcelona Pavilion, the Czech architect Martin Rajniš, and Architectus Omnibus.

In 2020, Concéntrico explores architecture and its natural cycles with two initiatives: Centrala’s (Małgorzata Kuciewicz, Simone De Iacobis) The Pavilion of Reverberations, an exhibition organized by Fundacja Bec Zmiana that began in the Polish pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia; and Tuomas Kuure’s artistic furniture collection called Life is a lethal experiment .

Since its first edition in 2015, the festival has brought together 59 urban installations created by teams of architects and designers from around the world who experiment with new fields of environmental design. In this way, a dialogue is established between the city, heritage, and contemporary architecture that activates citizens’ reflection on these spaces.

Studios such as Picado de Blas (Madrid), MAIO (Barcelona), Branco Del Rio (Coimbra), Boamistura (Madrid), Guillermo Santomà (Barcelona), Fernando Abellanas (Valencia), Plastique Fantastique (Berlin), Jorge Penadés (Málaga), David Bestué (Barcelona), Mjölk (Prague), and TAKK (Barcelona) have created interventions in the previous five editions of the festival.

This year, the fourteen urban installations have been designed by the following teams:
